I have been lucky enough to know the wonderful Michelle Ovens for a good few years now. Michelle is the founder and force of nature behind Small Business Saturday (alongside other campaigns such as f:Entrepreneur and Do It Digital to name a few), and has been doing such amazing stuff that she was recently awarded an M.B.E.
At the moment, I am working with Michelle on the build-up to the amazing Small Business Saturday on 2nd December – a day where we are all encouraged to celebrate and support our small businesses. The day is in its fifth year, and is a culmination of months of work and the naming of the official Small Biz 100; the hundred top small business in and around the UK chosen from thousands of entries.
The team are soon to be embarking on a nationwide bus tour on their big blue Small Business Saturday bus (with blue couch) visiting areas far and wide speaking to a number of small businesses. I am hugely excited to be mentoring on one leg and hosting a number of small businesses on the couch the London leg on 17th November – please come and say hi if you can! There is also a very exclusive event happening next month at a very important address (if you’ve seen my Instagram, you will know!) inviting a selection of the Small Biz 100 to showcase their wonderful brands. I am very excited to be working on this and to be marketing such a fantastic initiative. Small businesses are at the heart of our communities and need to be supported and celebrated so it would be great if people can get involved and support this amazing campaign.
